Tours & Experiences

Would you like the chance to try some new activities and see the landscape as an archaeologist sees it? HARP provide a range of archaeology tours and experiences in Scotland that lay bare the eclectic past of the northern realm of Britain.

All HARP tours are led by professional archaeologists who give you an insight into the past that is different from regular history tours. We highlight local excavations and give you an understanding of how the area you are touring developed during both prehistoric and historical times. We guide you through the archaeological skills used to identify and record heritage sites, giving you the opportunity to ‘have a go’.

Guided tour of the Dunkeld to Inverness military road in Perthshire

With ancient maps, photos of excavations, and gems of information, our tours offer something different and guarantee that you will be leaving with a lot more than you started with. By taking part you will directly support local Heritage Societies and Trusts whose sites and activities will be front and centre of your experience, taking you further than a traditional tour ever could.

We offer a series of regular walking and minibus tours, and are also available for private and bespoke tours. To find out what tours we have on offer please follow the links below. For more information, or to book a private or bespoke tour, please contact us..

As a not-for-profit organisation, your support will also feed back into HARP's community outreach and educational programmes, helping more people to learn new skills and engage with archeological sites and their local heritage.
